Admissions for students outside the UK

Having a healthy mix of cultures can only enrich life at our college – so we welcome applications from students outside the UK. Whether you’re applying for a full degree or for a single semester, the information on your application form and documentation of previously completed studies is essential. As the visa application process takes considerable time, we recommend you apply by the end of May at the latest for a September start in the same year.

The Application Process

To proceed with your application, we must first receive your completed application form, application fee and all referees’ reports. We may also choose to arrange an interview in your home land.

All teaching at the College is conducted in English, so applicants whose first language is not English need to demonstrate proficiency in English through completion of an IELTS test with acceptable scores. If you are a candidate for an undergraduate course, you will need a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, or its equivalent, overall; if you are a candidate for a postgraduate course, you will need a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, or its equivalent, overall. You are responsible for arranging to take the appropriate test and for submitting the documentary evidence.

Students from European Union countries and from Norway and Iceland are treated as “Home” students with respect to entrance to Britain for study. Details of eligibility for mandatory awards, bursaries and loans are available from the Financial Administrator.

NTC is able to sponsor full-time international students, but before the British immigration authorities will issue a Student Visa, they must be satisfied that you have the resources to finance your education. See more details at the UKVisas website. Students are able to work part time (up to 20 hours a week), and to bring dependents to the UK with them. Please contact the British High Commission or Embassy in your home country for details. The College requires a financial payment of the first term’s fees. These funds should be lodged with the College by July of the year of intended entry.
